Sebastian Thrun

Stanford roboticist whose team won the 2005 DARPA Grand Challenge with the autonomous car Stanley.

Thrun led the Stanford Racing Team that won the 2005 DARPA Grand Challenge with Stanley, the first autonomous vehicle to complete a desert course. He later co-founded Google’s self-driving car project and helped pioneer probabilistic robotics.
