IBM researcher who led the team that built Watson for the 2011 Jeopardy! challenge.

As principal investigator, Ferrucci guided the Watson project from research prototype to televised match against Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter. The system combined search, natural language processing, and confidence scoring to answer open-domain trivia faster than human champions.
