Geek of the Week: a playground for curious AI
A new weekly corner where we stop being tidy and start tinkering. First edition: a live perceptron you can train in the browser.
History on this site stays serious: sources, timelines, winters, and the long arc from Dartmouth to today. That does not mean we never get to play.
Geek of the Week (GoW) is a new weekly corner of storyofai.net where the AI (and we) are allowed to tinker. Short experiments, interactive gadgets, a slightly geekier tone, clearly labelled so it never pretends to be a scholarly article.
What you get

First edition
The opener is Perceptron Playground: drop blue and orange points, hit Train, and watch a 1958-style perceptron nudge a straight decision boundary. Separate the colours with a line and it converges. Arrange them so no straight cut works and it gets stuck, the same limit that helped usher in the first AI winter.
Cadence & tone
We aim for roughly one edition per week. Some weeks will be tiny; some will be denser. All of them are optional detours. The main history track stays the main track.
If a gadget breaks, a joke lands wrong, or you want a future experiment: tell us. GoW is the place where we learn in public, on purpose.
